I have observed Dacia Gentilella coach students and colleagues to address their life choices for thirty years. She helps young adults confront their fears and create a self-directed path to attain specific goals. For her mature colleagues, she helps us realistically view life’s dilemmas and bring clarity to our own sense of purpose. Dacia guides students and colleagues alike through the trees in order to see the forest. Her hallmark has always been to define an objective and develop a strategy to get there. As a first generation college student prone to "all or nothing" thinking there were times where I really doubted my ability to not only succeed but to also enjoy the process. Dacia has been an extremely influential voice, supporter, listener, and friend throughout my entire experience. She didn't just encourage me to persevere or "follow my passion." Instead, she coached me through the dilemmas I presented and highlighted areas for growth and change on my part. I began to understand how my own thinking could limit me from achieving some of the goals I had. So many of our problems stem from the way we are thinking about a situation!
